Google officially shut down its Google Reader service from July 1, 2013. Google Reader is much loved service by news reader. Google says due to its lack of popularity they have to closed this service.

But this doesn't mean that people who love news are out of options because they have still lot of options.

Google Reader was created in 2005 and became one of the most popular RSS readers, allowing users to see a stream of updates from their selected websites. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and updates content from multiple sources into one feed, so users can quickly scan stories from many different websites. Know more about RSS.
